Title XX

Program Description

The Alternative Schools Network of Chicago – Chicago Department of Family and Support Services Compass Counseling Program provides social adjustment and rehabilitation services to Title XX-eligible youth.

The program is directed toward Title XX National Goals I and II; that is, assisting participants to achieve economic self-support and preventing them from being institutionalized.

Participants in the program are adolescents and young adults (aged 14 through 24) who do not have successful public-school histories, have left or been removed from the public school system, and have enrolled in an alternative education program.

Program Goals & Target

A focused initiative designed to provide critical guidance and support structures for eligible youth.

  • Goal I & II: Assisting participants to achieve economic self-support and preventing institutionalization.
  • Age Group: Adolescents and young adults aged 14 through 24.
  • Eligibility: Enrolled in an alternative education program after leaving or being removed from the public school system.
